Cortney Braswell

Braswell spent the last two seasons coaching inside linebackers at Army following a year coaching outside linebackers at Appalachian State. He was also a defensive quality control coach on Scott Satterfield’s first Louisville team that improved by six wins.

While at Army, Braswell coached the inside linebackers helping lead the Black Knights to a 15-10 mark over two seasons. In 2021, he mentored linebacker Arik Smith, who posted 86 tackles and 10.5 tackles for loss en route to the Defender of the Nation Award given to the top defensive player on a service academy in the nation. Smith also was named to the Phil Steele 2021 All-Independent First Team. Another Braswell pupil, Leo Lowin, collected 2022 All-Independent Second Team following his 100-tackle season.
