Joshua Christian-Young joined University of Houston Football in January 2024 as its Defensive Backs Coach. The 2024 season will be his first with the Cougars. Christian-Young comes to Houston from Tulane where he spent the last four seasons.
In the last eight seasons, Christian-Young has helped coach teams to six bowl victories, two American Athletic Conference championship games and one league title.
In his 13 games as defensive backs coach with the Green Wave in 2023, the team intercepted 17 passes – a mark which ranked third nationally and led The American. As a unit, the Green Wave ranked 19th nationally in scoring defense (18.9) and 32nd nationally (second in The American) in total defense (332.7).
