Michael Machado (’19) is entering his second season as the offensive coordinator at his alma mater in the fall of 2023.
In his first two seasons as offensive coordinator, Machado has helped the Pioneers move into the top-four of the conference standings and turn into one of the top offenses in the Northwest Conference.
During the 2023 season, Lewis & Clark set a program record by scoring 50 or more points in three games during a single-season. The Pioneers recorded two of the top-10 highest scoring games in program history and posted 51 or more points in three conference games. In their season-finale against Willamette, the Pioneers offense recorded their third-most yards in a single-game (648) and fourth-most passing yards (517) in a 63-13 victory. Lewis & Clark reset the single-season program record for completion percentage (65.8%) for the second-straight season. Football finished the season averaging 454.3 yards per game which was the team's most since the 2016 season. Within the NWC, Lewis & Clark ranked third in points per game (35.4) and second in yards per game. Machado coached eight players who were named to the Northwest Conference All-Conference Team including First Team honorees Elijah McGee (wide receiver) and Elijah Washington (running back).
